The members in Swedish-Finnish jazz quartet Lexingtone are some of the most appreciated and respected musicians in Scandinavia. In more than a decade they have been touring the world and recorded with groups and artists such as First Aid Kit, Ariana Grande, Bo Kaspers Orkester, Anders Hagberg Quartet, Big Street MP, Tommy Körberg and Bohuslän Big Band.
They have also toured with several jazz groups in their own name and achieved big success on the Scandinavian jazz scene. Among these, the Blue Note and CAM Jazz recording group Joona Toivanen Trio, a Finnish Grammy awards nominee and the winner of the prestigious prize Teosto in Finland.
In Lexingtone these four musicians merge to one of the most exciting and coveted jazz groups of today. They play original compositions influenced by the 1960s New York jazz scene and legendary label Blue Note Records, whose adress was 767 Lexington Avenue.
Lexingtone was formed in 2017 and has since then been busy performing at the Swedish jazz scene as well as recording their debut album “Hypto Krypto” at Svenska Grammofonstudion for Stockholm Jazz Records.
The music can be described as groovy hardbop with strong melodies and tight interplay.
